Playtech Acquires Casual Games Developer Funtactix
On the web gambling technology giant Playtech announced on Tuesday so it has made another move towards bolstering its casual games providing by buying popular social and mobile video gaming studio Funtactix. Information on the transaction have remained undisclosed.
Headquartered in New York, Funtactix comes with workplaces in la, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, and it is known for developing social and mobile games based on a wide range of popular films and franchises, with Mission: Impossible and The Hunger Games being only few of these.
Apart from producing gaming that is in-house, the organization can also be understood for working together with a number of activity giants such as for instance Lions Gate Entertainment and Paramount. A year ago, Funtactix announced the launch of its publishing unit FTX Games, with the latter being concerned with publishing major video gaming games and connecting third-party video gaming designers to holders of intellectual property.
The video gaming studio said it will now be able to do this supported by Playtech and its experience and resources for internal gaming development that it would remain focused on establishing FTX Games as a leading games publisher and following the latest announcement.
The deal that is latest comes included in Playtech’s technique to expand its presence on the casual games market and to eventually establish it self as a leader into the field.
